Estopa will release La Maketa on 20 November, revisiting songs from the demo that launched the Muñoz brothers’ career. Their 2027 tour includes a Barcelona stadium concert on 18 June.
The Muñoz brothers announced the project on 13 October at a press conference in the Faculty of Geography and History at the Universitat de Barcelona. The event will take place at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
La Maketa, a double album due on 20 November 2026, returns to recordings made before Estopa’s debut album came out in October 1999. The early material dates from around 1996 to 1998, including the 1997 demo named in the project. The duo from Cornellà recorded 30 songs before signing with a record label. Twelve appeared on Estopa in 1999. Another 11 made it onto Destrangis in 2001. La Maketa brings back the songs left off both albums. David Muñoz called their release a form of poetic justice: those early compositions opened the brothers’ path to a professional career.
The album splits the material between recovered songs and original recordings. Its first disc has seven demo tracks that never received an official release, plus three songs from the same period that had never been recorded. The second disc features original 1997 recordings, restored from the master tape after the brothers accidentally found it at their parents’ home. The project revisits their early songwriting, around three decades before the album’s release.
«Bicho raro» leads the release. One of the best-known demo tracks, it is due on streaming platforms on 16 October, accompanied by a video. David wrote it with his brother José. Their friend Antonio Abad also worked on the song when they were teenagers. Some of its lines later appeared in «Vino Tinto» and «Tragicomedia».
Estopa’s four-date stadium tour opens at Ciutat de València on 12 June 2027. The brothers play Barcelona’s Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on 18 June, then head to Seville’s La Cartuja on 26 June. The final show is at Madrid’s Riyadh Air Metropolitano on 9 July. Barcelona’s wider live-music calendar also includes Mixtur’s citywide programme, scheduled across 11 venues from 15 to 25 October. Estopa’s date is a stadium concert.
Album preorders open on 18 October. Buyers can get a code for a 24-hour window of early access to concert tickets. The date is known to fans as the «Día de la Estopidad», since Estopa’s debut album came out that day in 1999. Personal codes are due by email from 10:00 on 16 November, ahead of the general ticket sale.
Tickets go on general sale through estopa.com on 17 November 2026 at 22:00. The Barcelona concert is scheduled for 18 June 2027 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
