In Badalona, Asisa Joventut claimed a convincing 82:63 win over Kosner Baskonia, tying the score in the Endesa League playoff quarterfinal series. The key factor was an outstanding performance by Cameron Hunt: the guard scored 27 points and made 6 three-pointers, preventing the opponent from mounting any real challenge throughout the game.

From the very start, the hosts seized the initiative, quickly building a double-digit lead thanks to Hunt's accurate shots and the support of the Olímpic stands. By the fifth minute, the score was 14:5, and by the end of the first quarter, 25:14. Baskonia tried to close the gap through Matteo Spagnolo’s efforts, but Asisa Joventut maintained a high pace and accuracy.

In the second period, the Catalans' advantage only grew: after Adam Hanga took the court, the gap reached +14, and a three-pointer by Michael Ruzic forced the visiting coach to call a timeout at 34:17. Baskonia managed to slightly reduce the gap by halftime—44:31—but couldn’t turn the game around.

After the break, the teams exchanged effective attacks, but Asisa Joventut quickly regained a comfortable lead. Hunt continued to score, and the visitors’ attempts to close the gap through Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot fell short. By the end of the third quarter, the score was 62:43, and at the start of the final stretch, Hunt hit two more shots from deep, definitively settling the question of the winner.

In the closing minutes, Kosner Baskonia failed to offer resistance, and Asisa Joventut closed out the game for a confident win. The final score: 82:63. The fate of the semifinal spot will now be decided in the third game, which will be held on Sunday at the Fernando Buesa Arena. The winner will face Valencia Basket.

For Asisa Joventut, in addition to Hunt, standout performances came from Hanga (11 points), Rubio (10), Morin (9), and Birgander (6). For the visitors, the top scorers were Forrest (15), Diakite (13), and Spagnolo (12). The match was attended by 7,587 spectators and officiated by Carlos Cortes, Luis Miguel Castillo, and Raul Zamorano.

Interestingly, sporting events in Badalona regularly draw attention: previously, there was a public discussion in the city about the renovation of a street basketball court after an Adidas commercial was filmed there, which sparked debate among local residents. More on this in the article about the conflict over the court in Llefià.

For reference: Liga Endesa is Spain’s top basketball tournament, featuring the country’s strongest clubs. The playoffs traditionally attract fans and influence the sporting agenda in the regions. In the 2026 season, the battle for a place in the semifinals remains as intense as ever.
