Madrid emergency services responded to two serious hit-and-run incidents during the early hours, leaving both victims hospitalized in serious condition. On Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona, a vehicle struck a 25-year-old man, who suffered a serious traumatic brain injury. On Calle de Alcalá, a car hit a 60-year-old man riding an electric scooter and fled the scene.
Paramedics from SAMUR-Protección Civil, Madrid’s municipal emergency medical service, treated both men and transferred them to hospital. The younger man’s injuries were described as grave; the older man was also reported to be in serious condition. Madrid Municipal Police are investigating the second collision and working to identify the driver and vehicle.
The incidents raise questions about the risks people face outside enclosed vehicles in urban traffic.
