An updated ranking of national motorcycle racing winners in Ireland over recent years has been published. The list is based on results since 2020, starting from the Cookstown 100 round, and shows which riders have most often claimed the top spot on the podium.
Michael Dunlop MBE remains the leader in number of victories, with 27 first-place finishes. He is closely followed by Barry Davidson with 26 wins. Rounding out the top three is Michael Browne, who has achieved 19 wins. Among the most successful are also Davey Todd and Richard Ford — with 15 wins each, and Michael Sweeney completes the top six with 13 race victories.
Dynamics of the Battle for Leadership
The second tier of the ranking includes Andy Hornby (12 wins), Glenn Irwin, Darryl Tweed, Keelim Ryan, and Dominic Herbertson — each with 8 victories. Among riders who regularly finish on the podium are Brian Mateer, John Leigh Pemberton, Richard Cooper, and Nigel Moore — each with 7 wins. Several more competitors, including Sean Brolly and Chris Meyer, ended this period with six wins each.
The list also includes riders with between one and five victories, among them Paul Jordan, Lee Osprey, Adam McLean, Eoin O’Siochru, Alastair Seeley, and others. In total, the updated ranking features dozens of names, highlighting strong competition and a wide variety of participants on Irish tracks.
Season Features and Ranking Structure
The ranking takes into account all official wins since 2020. The exact number of race victories is provided next to each rider's name. This approach allows for an objective assessment of the battle for leadership and reveals the most consistent competitors. According to Tommy Vennard, the ranking is updated regularly to reflect the current state of Irish motorsport.
