A major new project is set to launch in the eastern part of Seville (Sevilla Este), already being called the largest affordable housing initiative in the region’s history. The company Lagoom Living, in partnership with the local municipality and the city’s housing agency, has announced the start of a development consisting of 843 apartments. Of these, 691 will be reserved for long-term rentals under subsidized terms, while the remaining 152 will be designated for temporary accommodation. The total investment is impressive: €143 million, part of which comes from European support funds.
Construction will take place on land adjacent to the Recinto de Feria y Exposiciones exhibition center. Four high-rise buildings, each with between eight and fourteen floors, will be built here. The total project area covers 54,000 square meters. In addition to apartments, the project will offer infrastructure designed for comfortable living: 715 parking spaces, storage units, green areas, a pool, sports facilities, coworking spaces, multi-purpose halls, laundry facilities, and recreational areas.
Investment and Innovation
Project funding comes from multiple sources. A significant portion—€24.4 million—comes from the Next Generation EU program, overseen in Andalusia by the regional government. The rest is financed by Lagoom Living and its partners. This approach not only accelerates construction but also makes it possible to implement modern standards of quality and energy efficiency.
The architects paid special attention to environmental sustainability and resident comfort. The buildings will feature cross-ventilation systems, energy-efficient façades, and solar panels installed on the roofs. All apartments will be awarded a double Class A energy efficiency rating, helping to reduce utility costs and lower the carbon footprint.
A city for living
The project aims to create more than just a residential complex—it’s designed as a fully-fledged urban space where residents can live, work, relax, play sports, and socialize. The entire infrastructure is carefully planned to ensure a high level of comfort and safety. Special emphasis is placed on landscaping and the development of public spaces to help foster a close-knit community.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026. To speed up the process and minimize environmental impact, an industrial construction method will be used. This approach will shorten delivery times, reduce construction waste, and lessen noise pollution.
Partnership and prospects
Authorities in Sevilla and representatives of Lagoom Living stress that such projects are only possible through close cooperation between the government and private business. In their view, this kind of partnership enables a quick response to rising demand for affordable housing and brings the best European practices into the urban environment.
The presentation was attended by Seville’s mayor José Luis Sanz, Andalusia’s regional minister of Development and Housing Rocío Díaz, as well as representatives from the central government. All highlighted that the new residential complex will serve as a model for other cities across the country and help thousands of families improve their living conditions.
New standards
Lagoom Living is focused on quality and innovation. The company believes that combining modern technologies, energy-efficient solutions, and well-developed infrastructure will create a unique living environment. In the future, similar projects could set a new standard for Spain as a whole, where affordable housing remains a pressing issue.
Seville residents are already showing interest in the new complex. Demand for apartments is expected to be high, especially among young families and professionals seeking modern and affordable rental options. In the coming months, the company will begin accepting applications and hold a series of informational meetings for prospective tenants.
