Alessandro Lequio broke his silence following a high-profile interview given by his first wife, Antonia Dell’Atte. In the pages of El País, the Italian model shared painful memories of her years married to the aristocrat. She spoke openly about the physical and psychological pressure she endured from the father of her only son, Clemente, and also pointed to a kind of ‘complicity’ from the social press, which turned a blind eye to what was happening. Just a few hours after the interview was published, the TV host issued his public response on air.
His comment aired on the program “Vamos a ver,” where Lequio is a regular contributor and has recently addressed other controversial issues involving his name. Host Patricia Pardo addressed him directly, mentioning the published interview. Alessandro confirmed he needed to speak. Given the floor, he stated his decision: all of Antonia Dell’Atte’s claims have been forwarded to his lawyer for appropriate legal action. “Everything has been said already,” he summarized briefly, adding that the rest should be handled by those responsible. When pressed further by the host, he replied that this was “enough,” putting an end to additional questions.
In an interview with journalist Isabel Valdés, Antonia Dell’Atte painted a grim picture of their life together. Back in 1991, while still his wife, she filed a police report for “abandonment of the family, as well as physical and psychological abuse,” fearing for herself and her son, although she later withdrew it. According to her, as their relationship progressed, he increasingly “manipulated” her and “isolated” her from her usual social circle, forcing her to quit her job and effectively locking her in the house.
The model also recalled specific episodes of cruelty. She claims that she received the first kick from Lequio while pregnant, right after returning from their honeymoon. When she publicly called him a “rapist,” he sued her for defamation but lost the case. The court sided with her, ruling that she had not lied. “Justice confirmed that I told the truth. I never lied,” Dell’Atte emphasized.
This is not the only recent story involving Ana Obregón’s ex-husband. A month ago, his name surfaced again with the release of Mar Flores’ memoir “Mar en calma.” In her book, the model spoke about their relationship, the Italian’s promises, and even scandalous photos for the cover of Interviú magazine. She writes that she gave in to her feelings because she was in love and had no idea about his double life. After the publication of these memoirs, Lequio issued a statement in which he described as “vulgar” any woman who dreams of a man buying her a house, and also called “vulgar” a country—implying Spain—where, according to him, “a woman never opens her wallet.”
Following this scandal, another of Lequio’s former partners, Sonia Moldes, appeared in the television studio. She claimed that the Italian secretly recorded intimate encounters with women and even presented public evidence of their relationship. Against the backdrop of all these controversies, the aristocrat has always used the TV show where he works as a platform to voice his opinion. However, when faced with the accusations from the mother of his child, he preferred not to go into details.
