On Thursday, October 16, 2025, the cost of electricity in Spain reached 109.88 euros per megawatt-hour. Compared to the previous day, tariffs increased slightly — a rise of 0.77%. For many households and businesses, this means they need to pay closer attention to when they use electrical appliances.
The most cost-effective time to use electricity today is from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, when the price drops to 70.44 euros per megawatt-hour. Experts recommend scheduling laundry, running dishwashers, and other high-energy tasks during this period to help reduce your final bill. However, it is important to remember that the final cost includes additional fees and taxes, which may affect the total amount.
In the evening, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM, tariffs spike sharply — up to 153.47 euros per megawatt-hour. Similarly high levels are observed in the morning, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, when the price reaches 152.89 euros. During these hours, it is advisable to limit the use of high-power appliances to avoid unnecessary expenses.
Throughout the day, electricity prices change every 15 minutes. Prices are lowest during the day and peak in the evening and early morning, exceeding 150 euros per megawatt-hour. Such fluctuations are prompting many residents to reconsider their routines and adapt to the new market realities.
Such fluctuations in electricity prices have become increasingly noticeable in recent months. Spaniards are forced to adapt in order to avoid overpaying for electricity and closely monitor the schedule of peak and off-peak hours. For many families, this has already become part of their daily routine.
