The Most Popular Cars in Spain: November 2025

Top 10 Bestsellers: Which Cars Spaniards Prefer and Why

November 2025 brought new trends to Spain’s automotive market. While sales declined, interest in practical and fuel-efficient models continues to grow. Discover which cars led the market and why.

In November 2025, the Spanish passenger car market was once again in the spotlight. Despite an overall decline in sales, interest in practical, affordable, and modern models remains steady. Over the month, 80,093 new cars were sold—17.2% less than in October. The drop affected nearly all segments, including electric vehicles and popular crossovers. However, even amid an unpredictable economy and the shift toward electrification, buyers’ preferences remain fairly predictable.

Experts attribute the drop in demand to the end of autumn promotions and an increased interest in used cars, where prices are significantly lower. A seasonal slowdown is typical for November, but this year the decline was especially marked. Nevertheless, models that combine efficiency, reliability, and appealing prices still topped the rankings.

Top sellers

Dacia Sandero confidently took first place for the month with 2,945 units sold. Despite a 15.5% drop compared to October, this budget hatchback continues to hold its ground. Since the beginning of the year, Spaniards have purchased 35,101 Sandero, making it one of the market’s most consistent performers.

Renault Clio made a surprise leap into the top ranks with a 28% increase in sales. Its updated interior and the E-Tech hybrid version attracted buyers’ attention, helping the model climb to the top. Peugeot 2008, despite a 17.9% decrease, remained in the top three—this urban crossover continues to be in demand among brand enthusiasts.

The SEAT Ibiza, a perennial Spanish favorite, held its ground with only a slight decline of 4.2%. Its stability is attributed to a successful combination of price, quality, and iconic design. In contrast, the Toyota Yaris Cross gained 13.9%, further cementing its status as one of the most sought-after hybrid crossovers.

Segment dynamics

The Volkswagen T-Roc saw a modest drop of 4.1% but remains among the most popular compact SUVs. The Hyundai Tucson lost just 2.7%, signaling strong buyer loyalty to this model. Rich features, attractive hybrid versions, and competitive pricing keep the Tucson at the forefront of the segment.

Despite a 21.9% drop, the Nissan Qashqai still ranks among the top ten best-selling cars. The MG ZS sold 1,295 units, a 12% decrease, but maintained solid momentum. Rounding out the top ten is the Toyota Yaris, up 2.9%—this compact hybrid continues to gain popularity for its fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness.

Focus on electric vehicles

The electric car segment saw a standout performance from the Tesla Model 3 in November. Sales of this model soared by a staggering 1,587%, with 911 units delivered thanks to large-scale shipments. Chinese brand BYD strengthened its position by placing several models among the leaders, including the Dolphin Surf, Atto 2, Atto 3, and Seal. The Kia EV3 also posted strong results, while the Jeep Avenger and Renault 5 rounded out the top ten most in-demand electric vehicles of the month.

BYD continues to expand its presence in the Spanish market, offering a wide range of electric vehicles at competitive prices. This success is attributed not only to affordability but also to the expansion of its model lineup, which allows the brand to attract more and more buyers.

Trends and Prospects

ANFAC president José López-Tafall noted that interest in electrification in Spain is steadily increasing. Every fifth new passenger car is a hybrid or electric vehicle. Over the year, sales of electrified models could exceed 200,000 units, setting a new national record. However, despite the positive trend, Spain still lags behind the European average: electric vehicles account for 19% of new sales, compared to 25% in Europe.

The gap is even more noticeable in the commercial vehicle segment: 8% versus the EU average of 10%. Experts emphasize that, in order to achieve climate goals, it is necessary to speed up the transition to eco-friendly vehicles. Government support programs such as MOVES and tax benefits, which expire in January 2026, play an important role in this process.

In case you didn’t know, Dacia is part of the French Renault Group and specializes in manufacturing affordable and reliable cars. The Sandero model has been among the top sellers in Spain for several years due to its low price, easy maintenance, and modern features. The brand is actively introducing new technologies, including hybrid and electric versions, to meet market demands and customer expectations.
