Starting from December 2025, a new route will appear on Spain’s railway map: Ouigo is launching a daily high-speed train between Barcelona and Seville. Passengers will be able to travel between the two major cities in about six hours, with stops in Zaragoza, Madrid, and Cordoba. This route is designed for a wide range of travelers—from students and freelancers to tourists and families.
Tickets for the new service will go on sale in the coming days, with a minimum price of just 9 euros. The cost will depend on the time of purchase and demand, allowing for flexible travel planning. The first train will depart from Barcelona at 7:35 a.m. and arrive in Seville at 1:51 p.m., while the return journey will start at 5:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m.
Ouigo, a subsidiary of the French railway giant SNCF Voyageurs, continues to expand its network in Spain. With the launch of the new route, the number of daily trips between Barcelona and Madrid will increase to six, and between Seville and Madrid to five. This will greatly improve connectivity between the country’s largest cities and make travel more affordable.
The company notes that the route with intermediate stops was chosen for a reason: it increases the number of available destinations and makes optimal use of infrastructure managed by Adif. In the future, the possibility of launching a direct, non-stop train between Barcelona and Seville is being considered, should demand for this route grow.
The new route is expected to carry up to 360,000 passengers per year. Ouigo is focusing on quality service and customer convenience, and also aims to achieve a positive financial result for the first time by the end of the year. The company’s management is confident that the new route will replicate the success of existing ones and attract even more travelers looking for fast and affordable travel across Spain.
