This Saturday, the center of Barcelona will become the epicenter of a large-scale demonstration dedicated to the Palestinian issue. Hundreds of participants will take to the streets to show solidarity and draw attention to the situation in the Middle East. Organizers have planned not only a march but also a vibrant cultural program, which they believe will help make their message more visible to the general public.
The event is scheduled to start at 12:00 in the Jardinets de Gràcia. From there, the procession will move along Passeig de Gràcia, pass Plaça Catalunya and Ronda Sant Pere, and finish at the Arc de Triomf. The main rally is planned there, featuring performances by artists and Palestinian music. Participants are asked to wear black clothing as a symbol of mourning and support.
However, activities will begin even earlier: from 10:30, a creative workshop will open in the Jardinets de Gràcia, where visitors can make badges. After the march ends, around 14:00, poetry and stories by Palestinian and Catalan artists will be performed in the square near the Arc de Triomf, with live music adding to the atmosphere. After a short break, workshops will resume at 15:30, followed by a new wave of protest action at 17:00, this time heading towards Carrefour de las Ramblas. This stage will likely cause further congestion in the Ciutat Vella area. For those who stay until the end, a culinary treat from Gazzawi Cuisine will be offered—dishes will be available while supplies last.
The protest route will pass through key city thoroughfares, including Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça Catalunya, and Ronda Sant Pere. Drivers are advised to avoid the city center to prevent getting stuck in traffic. The municipality recommends using the metro and buses. Jardinets de Gràcia can be reached by metro lines L3 and L5, as well as buses 22, 24, V17, 6, 33, 34, H8, and 39. For those who prefer to travel by car, Saba Bamsa and NN Còrsega parking lots are available.
The Barcelona demonstration will be one of the most prominent among a series of protests taking place across Spain this weekend. Similar events are planned in Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Granada, and Murcia. Organizers emphasize that their goal is to show support for the Palestinian people and to demand an end to arms trade and official ties with Israel. A record turnout is expected in the Catalan capital—this may become the largest pro-Palestinian rally in recent years.
