In the small town of Alhama de Murcia, law enforcement officers detained two adults and one minor suspected of illegally depriving a woman of her freedom. According to investigators, a 50-year-old resident spent about a week locked in a room of her own home, unable to get out.
When police entered the house, they were shocked by what they found: the door to the room was locked from the outside with a heavy padlock, and inside was a woman in extremely poor condition. She showed visible signs of beating, cigarette burns, as well as clear symptoms of exhaustion and dehydration. The room lacked even the most basic living conditions—there was only an old mattress, scattered clothing, and trash.
The victim was unable to move on her own and required urgent medical attention. She was immediately taken to Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia, where doctors diagnosed her with severe dystrophy, dehydration, and numerous bodily injuries. According to investigators, the woman was subjected to constant humiliation: she was not allowed to use the bathroom, was denied medication, and was given neither food nor water. In addition, her hair was forcibly cut and she was verbally abused.
During a search of other rooms in the house, police found dried marijuana branches, indicating the detainees may be involved in illegal drug trafficking. All three had previously come to the attention of police in connection with drug and violence-related offenses.
The detainees have currently been charged with unlawful detention, bodily harm, and crimes against public health. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine all the details and possible motives behind the crime.
