A scandal has erupted in Córdoba over suspected serious abuse of a young child. Police have arrested a 23-year-old woman and her boyfriend after their two-year-old son was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries. The boy arrived at the medical facility with wounds on his lower back, as well as bleeding and cuts, which immediately raised concerns among doctors.
During the examination, medical staff noted the unusually calm behavior of the child. Tests revealed the presence of benzodiazepines—drugs with sedative and relaxing effects—in his system. This discovery heightened concern and prompted a swift response from social services.
Right after receiving the test results, the information was forwarded to the court and the forensic service. Authorities decided to temporarily remove the boy from his family to protect him from potential harm. Child protection specialists joined the case and began their own investigation into the circumstances.
During the proceedings, it emerged that the child’s mother claimed she had also been a victim of domestic abuse by her partner. This statement led to the man being additionally detained, now on suspicion of family violence. Both suspects remain in custody as the case files have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
The boy is currently under the supervision of specialists, and child protective services are handling his case. The investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will decide on further actions regarding those detained and the child himself.
