Battle for Sunday Evening: Supervivientes Leads While Cinema on La 1 Loses Viewers

Telecinco stands strong: Supervivientes All Stars wins, but rivals are close behind

Sunday evening changed the balance of power. Major TV channels competed for viewers’ attention. Not all managed to hold their ground. Audiences made an unexpected choice.

Spain’s television landscape witnessed another fierce battle for viewers’ attention last Sunday. While Telecinco’s flagship show ‘Supervivientes All Stars’ maintained its lead, its dominance is no longer absolute. The fifth debate, hosted by Sandra Barneda, attracted a 13.3% audience share—slightly down by two tenths of a percent from last week. The program narrowly missed surpassing the psychologically significant threshold of one million viewers for the third consecutive week, ending at 997,000.

Despite a slight dip, the survival reality show remained leader in its time slot, outpacing its closest competitor by 2.1 percentage points. The main casualty of this competition was the state channel La 1, whose weekly film program ‘La película de la semana’ suffered a notable setback. The thriller ‘The Whole Truth’ starring Keanu Reeves managed to interest only 10.6% of viewers, or 1.16 million people—a sharp drop of 3.1 points compared to the triumphant showing of ‘Oppenheimer’ the week before. In direct competition from 22:02 to 23:30, Telecinco’s show also stayed slightly ahead, drawing 10.9% against the film’s 10.6% on La 1.

Meanwhile, other channels saw their own dramas unfold. The Turkish saga “Una nueva vida” on Antena 3 delivered its best audience share of the season at 11.4%. Paradoxically, however, the series lost around 119,000 viewers compared to the previous episode and has not managed to attract more than a million fans in the last four months. A completely different picture emerged on Cuatro. The show hosted by Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter, “Cuarto milenio”, dedicated to mysteries and the unexplained, set a new record for the current season. The episode gathered 715,000 viewers, corresponding to a 7.9% share, gaining 1.5 points over the week.

La Sexta also had a positive evening. The program “Salvados”, which told the story of the last person executed under the Franco regime, showed significant growth. The investigation attracted 731,000 viewers (a 6.1% share), improving on the previous two weeks’ numbers. The overall daily ranking presented an interesting situation: Antena 3 and La 1 ended Sunday with exactly the same result at 10.3%. As often happens, the leading position was held by the pay thematic channels segment with an impressive 16.7%. Telecinco followed with 9.2%, while Cuatro (6.3%) once again outperformed its direct competitor La Sexta (4.5%).
