The MotoGP race at the Mandalika circuit in Indonesia ended in a triumph for Spanish riders. Fermín Aldeguer claimed his first career victory, becoming one of the youngest winners in the history of the championship. He was joined on the podium by Pedro Acosta and Álex Márquez, earning Spain a full sweep of the top positions.
The race began with a tense moment: on the very first lap, Marco Bezzecchi and Marc Márquez collided. Both riders were unable to continue. Márquez sustained a serious shoulder injury and was sent to Madrid for a medical examination. Doctors do not rule out ligament damage to his collarbone, which could affect his participation for the rest of the season.
After the finish, Fermín Aldeguer noted that the team had long believed in his potential, and this result is a testament to their work. Pedro Acosta, who finished second, emphasized that he is pleased with his progress and grateful to the motorcycle manufacturer for their support. Álex Márquez, completing the top three, pointed out the difficulty of overtaking on this track and expressed satisfaction with the final result.
Brad Binder finished fourth, delivering the best result for KTM’s official team this weekend. He managed to recover multiple positions after starting from fifteenth on the grid. Alex Marquez also made an impressive charge, moving up from seventh at the start to claim a podium, further establishing his status as the leading independent rider overall. Pedro Acosta struggled with tire wear in the final laps, but held on to second place.
The entire race was highly competitive: the fight for podium positions continued until the very end, with places changing hands repeatedly. The next round of the MotoGP World Championship will take place in Australia from October 17 to 19.
