The ticket sales platform Trainline, in partnership with football club Real Betis Balompié, has launched a new advertising campaign called “Escapa de tus Vacaciones” (“Escape from Your Vacation”). The main goal is to give club fans on holiday the chance to attend the opening game of the 2025/2026 season. The match against Alavés will take place on Friday, August 22, at La Cartuja stadium in Seville.
At the heart of the campaign is an original commercial filmed in a surreal and humorous style. The story features a Betis supporter vacationing at the seaside with his family. During lunch, his gaze meets that of a shrimp, subtly hinting that he truly wants to be at the stadium—not the beach. Flamenco music sets the tone for a scene that urges fans to swap sun loungers for stadium seats. To take part, fans need to post a holiday photo on their public Instagram account, asking to be “rescued,” and tag both Trainline and the football club. Entries close on August 18, and winners will be announced the very next day, August 19.
This initiative is part of a long-term partnership between Trainline and Real Betis, running until June 30, 2026. Under the agreement, the company logo appears on the kits of the men’s, women’s, and futsal teams. Trainline also serves as the official sponsor of the club’s “Forever Green” environmental platform, promoting the benefits of train travel for sustainability.
Trainline representatives note that, according to statistics, 76% of Spaniards have traveled at least once to attend a sporting event, with football being the most popular sport. However, only a third of them choose the train for such trips. The new campaign, integrated into the global sponsorship platform ‘Próxima Parada: Donde La Pasión Nos Lleve’ (Next Stop: Where Passion Takes Us), aims to encourage more fans to use rail transport and strengthen the company’s market position. The campaign is being actively promoted on social media and digital platforms, aligning with Real Betis’ strategy to expand its global presence, which already includes more than 170 sponsors.
