New BM Supermarket Opens in Madrid with Free Parking and Emphasis on Local Products. A new 1,260 m² BM supermarket has opened in Arroyomolinos. The store offers over 11,000 products, free parking, and a focus on fresh and local goods. The opening has created 28 new jobs.
A new BM supermarket has opened on Avenida de Francia in Arroyomolinos, marking a notable event for the Madrid market. The company invested 2.7 million euros in launching the 1,260-square-meter store, highlighting its serious intentions to compete with major players and local chains.
The official opening took place on May 14. The new supermarket offers customers more than 11,000 product items, free parking, and a wide selection of fresh products. Special attention is given to service: the store features traditional staffed counters—meat, fish, and deli sections—where products can be prepared to order.
A focus on freshness and local suppliers has become one of the key features of the store. There is a dedicated area for seasonal fruits and vegetables, where shoppers can select their own produce. The assortment includes vegetables from José Antonio Herrero in Villa del Prado, dairy products from La Colmenareña, sardines from Fish Gourmet in Guadarrama, and cooked octopus from Antonio & Ricardo in Getafe.
The opening of the supermarket created 28 new jobs. The entire team underwent internal training to ensure a high level of service and professional work in the specialized fresh food departments. This move is part of BM Supermercados’ expansion strategy in central Spain: the chain already has 86 stores and more than 1,800 employees in the region.
Location and strategy
The store is located in Parque Comercial Arroyomolinos, strengthening BM's presence in Madrid. The choice of location is not accidental: the company is actively expanding in the capital region, including through the integration of the Hiber chain, which has allowed it to increase staff and cover new areas.
What sets the new BM apart
Unlike the self-service format that dominates many competitors, BM is committed to a classic model with serviced counters and a focus on quality. For customers, this means the opportunity to receive personalized service and a wide selection of fresh products, including local options.
Practical details for shoppers
For residents of Arroyomolinos and the surrounding areas, the new supermarket means not only an expanded range but also convenience: free parking, the ability to choose fresh vegetables and fruit, and to buy meat, fish, and delicacies from specialists. Over 11,000 products make it possible to meet most daily needs in one place.
Context and prospects
The store opening is part of Grupo Uvesco’s large-scale investment program, which includes BM Supermercados. By the end of 2024, the group operated 336 stores and posted a turnover of €1.186 billion. In the coming years, the company plans to open 25 more supermarkets, eight of which will be in Madrid.
According to Talent24h, the new BM in Arroyomolinos intensifies competition in the capital's market by offering a combination of large-scale format, traditional service, and support for local producers. For shoppers, this is an opportunity to assess how well such an approach meets their expectations of a modern supermarket.
