Changan’s Deepal S07 2026 arrives with a new, faster-charging battery, a more powerful and efficient motor, and a refined interior. The update aims to challenge established European electric SUVs with improved range and technology.
Changan has introduced the updated Deepal S07 2026, bringing a series of technical and design improvements aimed squarely at the European electric SUV market. The new model features a significantly upgraded battery system and a more powerful motor, directly addressing earlier criticisms and positioning the S07 as a serious contender among established brands.
The Deepal S07 retains its dimensions—4.75 meters long, 1.93 meters wide, and 1.62 meters high—but now sports subtle exterior tweaks. The front lighting signature has been redesigned, new alloy wheels have been added, and body-colored side skirts and a front spoiler sharpen its appearance. Buyers can also opt for a two-tone roof and additional personalization options.
Inside, the S07 steps up in quality, with high-grade materials and careful assembly creating a more premium feel. The cabin remains spacious, offering a 510-litre rear boot (expandable to 1,385 litres with the rear seats folded) and an additional 125-litre front trunk. The dashboard is dominated by a 15.6-inch touchscreen that can tilt toward either the driver or passenger, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the skin, the most significant changes are technical. The new permanent magnet synchronous motor now delivers 258 hp, while average consumption drops to 17.6 kWh/100 km (WLTP). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 7.8 seconds, and top speed rises to 185 km/h. The lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery has grown to 78 kWh, enabling a range of up to 500 kilometers on a single charge. Fast charging capability has doubled: the S07 can now charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes at 200 kW DC, or from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. AC charging is rated at 11 kW.
Changan has also equipped the S07 with frequency-selective damping (FSD) shock absorbers for improved ride comfort, new 20-inch alloy wheels, an augmented reality head-up display, and cooled wireless smartphone charging. The SUV includes a connected navigation system, gesture controls, a 360-degree camera setup with transparent chassis view for parking, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance features.
Pricing for the Deepal S07 in Spain starts at €45,990 before incentives or promotional campaigns. The vehicle comes with a seven-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, and the high-voltage battery is covered for eight years or 200,000 kilometers.
Changan’s rapid response to market feedback is notable, especially compared to the slower update cycles of many European manufacturers.
