A sudden fire in the kitchen of Casa Aldana left three staff with minor burns. Emergency teams evacuated the bar and sent the injured to hospital. The venue remains closed pending safety checks.

Three kitchen workers at Casa Aldana in Ciudad Jardín were taken to hospital after a faulty butane cylinder caused a fire in the kitchen on Sunday afternoon. The bar, a well-known spot in Seville, was quickly evacuated as emergency crews arrived.

Emergency services got several calls at 14:30 about flames coming from the kitchen of Casa Aldana on Alfonso XI street, near Gran Plaza. Police, firefighters, and medical teams arrived within minutes and contained the fire before it could spread beyond the kitchen. Three staff members suffered minor burns and were taken to Hospital Quirónsalud Infanta Luisa in Triana.

В Севилье 2 сентября 2026 года произошёл крупный пожар на стройплощадке бывшей фабрики Altadis, где пострадали несколько человек, но огонь был быстро локализован.

The bar’s owner said the fire started when a defective butane cylinder caused a flash of flames. No customers were hurt, and the injured staff were released from hospital the same day. The owner said the team is now checking for structural damage and will reopen only after the building is confirmed safe.

Casa Aldana is just steps from Gran Plaza and is a regular spot for people in Ciudad Jardín and Nervión. The fire has renewed concerns about old gas installations in older bars and restaurants, an issue that has come up in other recent incidents in Andalusia. For comparison, a previous investigation showed how lapses in fire prevention can have much worse results in rural areas.

Although the fire at Casa Aldana was contained and there were no serious injuries, the incident highlights how equipment failures can disrupt small businesses. In Spain, gas cylinders and kitchen equipment must be inspected regularly, but enforcement often depends on local authorities and how careful business owners are. All three injured staff were able to go home the same day, which shows the emergency response worked well. Still, even small mistakes can put people at risk and force businesses to close. In a city where bars and restaurants are part of daily life, owners and regulators need to treat safety checks as essential.
