Lepas will launch the L6 and L4 electric cars in Spain, aiming to meet both city and long-distance driving needs. The move is part of Chery group’s effort to grow its presence in Europe’s electric vehicle market.
Lepas is stepping up its plans in Spain with two new fully electric cars, the L6 and L4, both expected to arrive before the end of the year. This is a shift for the Chery group’s brand, which first entered Spain with the hybrid Lepas L8 and now wants to reach more drivers by offering both hybrid and electric options.
The L6 is a mid-size SUV aimed at drivers who want comfort and longer range for trips outside the city. It measures 4.57 meters long with a 2.70-meter wheelbase, offering a roomy interior. The 65 kWh battery provides up to 450 kilometers of certified range, and its 217-horsepower electric motor is designed for those who want to travel farther without worrying about charging.
Lepas L4 EV features fast charging capability up to 120 kW, allowing for quicker top-ups during busy urban routines.
The L4, on the other hand, is built for city and short-distance travel. It’s more compact, making it easier to handle in traffic and park in tight spots. Even with its smaller size, the L4 matches the L6’s 450-kilometer range, making it a practical choice for daily commutes without frequent charging. Inside, the L4 is designed for flexibility, with 34 storage spaces and fold-flat seats that create a flat cargo area. The main trunk holds 458 liters, and there’s an extra compartment under the front hood for cables and small items.
The L6’s interior includes a 410-liter main trunk and 99 liters of underfloor storage. It also comes with features like a cooled 50 W wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic roof, all aimed at making longer trips more comfortable.
With these two models, Lepas is trying to meet the needs of both city drivers and those who travel longer distances. By offering a compact car for urban use and an SUV for longer trips, the brand hopes to appeal to drivers who have been hesitant to switch to electric vehicles.
Lepas officially launched in Spain with the L8 Super Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid offering 279 hp, 90 km of electric-only range, and a total range exceeding 1,040 km. The L8 entered the market through a network of 52 sales points, signaling a robust commitment to the Spanish market.
This strategy is similar to what other carmakers are doing, such as Dacia’s focus on affordable hybrids, seen in the recent launch of the Sandero Stepway hybrid 155. Competition for Spanish drivers is growing, with brands trying to cover every need and price range.
According to Google/SpainAuto, Lepas’s expansion marks a new stage in the electric car market. Now, it’s not just about technical specs or flexible interiors—brands have to offer real solutions for both city and long-distance driving. The real question is whether Spanish buyers, who are used to a wide range of choices and practical demands, will see these new models as a good fit for their daily needs. For now, Lepas has made its move, and the market will show if this approach can secure a place in Spain’s fast-changing car scene.
