Lynk & Co’s 08 EM-P plug-in hybrid SUV has surpassed 200,000 worldwide deliveries in under three years. With a 200 km electric range and a 540-litre boot, the model is now available in Spain and more than 30 other markets.
The Lynk & Co 08 EM-P has now passed 200,000 units delivered worldwide, marking a strong entry into the European SUV market. This plug-in hybrid, launched by Geely’s Lynk & Co brand, has become a fixture in China and is now available in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, and other countries.
The 08 EM-P stands out for its technical specs, especially its electric-only range. While most plug-in hybrids offer limited battery range, the 08 EM-P uses a 39.6 kWh battery, officially rated for up to 200 km of electric driving under the WLTP cycle. This figure is well above most competitors and makes the SUV a practical option for drivers who want real zero-emission capability for daily trips.
In Latin America, the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P set two Guinness World Records: one for driving 1,813 km without refueling or recharging, and another for 293 km on electric power alone.
The 08 EM-P pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, producing a combined 345 hp and 615 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a claimed 6.8 seconds. The total range, using both the battery and fuel tank, can exceed 1,000 km. Charging is competitive as well: the battery supports up to 85 kW DC fast charging, reaching 10 to 80 percent in about 33 minutes, and 11 kW AC charging for home or public stations.
First launched in China in September 2023, the 08 EM-P quickly became a key model for Lynk & Co. Its international rollout followed, and it is now present in over 30 markets. According to the company, this expansion is notable given Lynk & Co’s earlier focus on China. The 08 EM-P was the first plug-in hybrid the brand brought to Europe, after the earlier Lynk & Co 01.
In Spain, the 08 EM-P starts at 52,995 euros for the Core trim, with the More version from 56,995 euros before incentives or promotions. The SUV offers a 540-litre boot, aiming to attract both families and commuters. Looking ahead, a major change is planned: from January 2027, Volvo will take over exclusive distribution of Lynk & Co vehicles in Europe, using its established sales and aftersales network. Lynk & Co will keep its own brand identity, product range, and customer relationships.
According to CleanTechnica and several independent automotive outlets, the 08 EM-P was among the top three best-selling plug-in hybrids in overseas markets such as Mexico and Morocco during the first half of 2026. The model's reach now spans Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America, and North Africa, reflecting a rapid and broad international expansion.
The growth of Chinese hybrid and electric models in Europe is part of a wider trend. As reported earlier, Geely’s Galaxy Cruiser 700 also drew tens of thousands of preorders in its first hour, showing the scale of Chinese automakers’ ambitions in Europe.
For Spanish buyers, the arrival of the Lynk & Co 08 EM-P marks a shift in the hybrid SUV market, where electric range and practicality are now central. The model’s sales and technical features show that Chinese brands are not just entering Europe, but changing expectations. As distribution and product strategies develop, the 08 EM-P’s success could influence how hybrid mobility is seen in Spain and across the continent.
