MSD Animal Health presented Nobivac NXT at its Madrid headquarters, where more than 110 distribution partners attended the first launch meeting. The company is entering a market in which around one in five cats still does not receive vaccination.

At MSD Animal Health's Madrid headquarters, more than 110 distribution partners gathered for the first Spanish meeting on Nobivac NXT. Spain has nearly five million registered cats. Around one in five still does not receive vaccination. The figures set the scene for the launch, although the independent materials reviewed do not separately confirm either statistic.

The company presented the product's scientific basis and its proposed value for veterinary clinics. The Madrid meeting is the first stage of a wider rollout for veterinarians, distributors and cat owners.

A separate feline-medicine session in Madrid on 23 September included Susana Domínguez’s presentation, “Nobivac NXT: El nuevo referente en vacunación felina”. The programme also covered vaccination, oncology, dentistry, cough, endoscopy and CT.

Feline medicine now takes up more space in Spain's companion-animal sector. The prevention gap remains. More cats could still receive vaccines, and clinics have room to tailor preventive care more closely to feline needs.

That gap matters.

Federica Burgio, Scientific Lead in the Companion Animal team at MSD Animal Health España, led the scientific presentation. She explained Nobivac NXT and the science behind the new preventive-care range. Immunology sat at the centre of the launch.

Marisa Palmero, DVM, also joined the programme. She is accredited in Feline Medicine by AVEPA and European Certified in Feline Medicine by ESPVS. Her session, titled "Vacunación felina hoy", covered the development of feline prevention and the clinical challenges linked to cats today.

The official EU veterinary-medicines register can be used to verify a product’s registration status, applicable decisions and authorised characteristics. It is an important reference for checking in which countries and under what conditions a veterinary medicine is permitted to circulate, rather than a substitute for clinical evidence about a launch.

Sandra Castillo, MSD Animal Health's Spanish Companion Animal director, presented the launch as part of a strategic category for the company. She connected the science with daily veterinary work and described Nobivac NXT as a next-generation preventive option for professionals and cat owners. That message matches the product's wider public positioning: a new generation of feline prevention based on new technology and current needs in feline medicine.

The organisers added a practical business session. Javier Fuentes Ibáñez of the specialist company NCompany led a workshop on artificial intelligence. It used practical cases and roleplaying exercises tied to situations in veterinary clinics.

The emphasis on immunology also fits a wider interest in how biological information can guide medical decisions. Earlier blood research followed a similar scientific line in earlier blood research. Nobivac NXT remains a feline vaccination product. The comparison does not change its scope, but it helps explain why the scientific case is central to the company's presentation.

The rollout will continue at a regional media meeting in Poland during WSAVA on 13 October. A national Madrid event is set for 11 November, followed by a launch webinar on 26 November. MSD Animal Health also plans appearances at Vetcan from 22 to 24 October, Congreso Andaluz from 6 to 7 November, VetCats from 12 to 14 November and SEVC from 19 to 21 November.

The dates come from independent launch coverage. They place the Spanish launch within a wider European campaign in autumn 2026, rather than treating it as a one-off distribution event.

The route is clear. It runs through distributors, media meetings, congresses and online education. The real test will be whether the scientific proposition helps clinics reach cats outside routine vaccination. Nobivac NXT is a preventive-care push in a growing feline segment. Its value will depend on how well it reaches those animals.

A Madrid professional session involving MSD Animal Health España and IVC Evidensia España also placed the product in a clinical-education setting, not only in distribution channels.
