The biggest changes are expected in the Sierra, where AEMET warns of likely afternoon storms and showers. Brief downpours could also occur elsewhere in the region, with storms and showers possible in eastern parts of the Iberian Peninsula. Meteorologists have linked the shift to increased atmospheric instability. Official AEMET advisories call for caution when travelling or planning outdoor activities in affected areas. Winds will turn north and northeast, especially in higher areas, and may strengthen as the front passes.
Nights will feel colder in the Sierra, particularly at higher elevations, while lows elsewhere in Madrid will range from 15°C to 18°C. The cooler pattern is expected to last through the week; summer heat is unlikely to return until the weekend, when highs may again climb above 30°C. AEMET advises residents to follow updates, especially if planning to spend time in the mountains, where storms and changing conditions could affect outdoor activities.
