The October sun bathed the ancient streets of Cáceres in light, as the city became the epicenter of Spain’s social scene over the weekend. The occasion was the wedding of Fernando Palazuelo and actress Micaela Belmont, an event that brought together the aristocratic circles of Spain and Peru. Naturally, much of the public’s attention was drawn to the groom’s sister, Sofía Palazuelo, Duchess of Huéscar, whose appearance once again affirmed her status as a style icon.
For the family celebration, the Duchess, who recently became a mother for the third time, chose a look that perfectly combined elegance and comfort. She appeared in a camel-toned wrap midi dress. A wide dark blue satin belt delicately accentuated her waist, creating a graceful contrast. The loose fit of the outfit suited the warm autumn weather perfectly. The ensemble was completed with heeled sandals with thin straps and a small metallic clutch in gold-brown tones.
However, the standout detail that gave the outfit its finishing touch and flair was an oversized pamela hat. This accessory, made from a natural material reminiscent of raffia, was worn coquettishly to the side. A low bun and understated makeup—Sofía’s signature—harmoniously completed her look. The earthy tones of her outfit and accessories echoed the golden hues of Cáceres’ ancient stones, creating a cohesive and thoughtfully curated image.
This event also held deep symbolic significance for the family. Seven years ago, it was Fernando who accompanied his sister to the altar at her wedding to the heir of the House of Alba. Now, the roles have reversed: Sofía attended his wedding as a guest, together with her husband and daughters. This autumn season has been particularly filled with family occasions for the Duke and Duchess of Huéscar. The bride, Micaela Belmont, daughter of the former Minister of Culture of Peru, impressed guests with a highly original wedding dress that paid tribute to her roots.
The celebration, which brought together over two hundred and fifty guests, not only united high society but also further cemented Cáceres’s reputation as a prestigious wedding destination. Notable attendees included designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada with her son, as well as Patricia Llosa Urquidi, the former wife of writer Mario Vargas Llosa. It appears that this city in Extremadura is firmly establishing itself as a new gem for aristocratic festivities, offering a unique blend of historical heritage, elegance, and the necessary privacy.
