The evening broadcast of the popular show “La revuelta” on October 8 was drawing to a close when something completely unexpected happened on set. Valeria Ros appeared in the studio, to the astonishment of host David Broncano and the audience. Her arrival was a real sensation, especially since just a few months ago digital media were abuzz with reports that the Basque comedian had left the project due to low audience approval. The situation was so ambiguous that her colleague Grison even publicly joked about her absence, remarking that “they keep backstage what is no longer being used,” hinting at Valeria. His surprise at seeing the comedian return was unmistakable.
Valeria Ros wasted no time and immediately sought to clarify the situation that had stirred her fans and the press for several months. She recounted how this information storm began at the end of July. It all started with an email from a journalist asking whether she had doubts about continuing in the new season. The comedian asked to know the source of this information, but received no answer. Instead, just minutes later, the same outlet published news of her dismissal. “The only change to grow the audience is my departure? I was only here four times!” she exclaimed with irony, adding that there was no word from the program’s management, because, as Broncano explained, “there was nothing to report.”
The comedian admitted that the situation threw her off balance. “I was completely confused,” she shared. A few weeks later, appearing at the FesTVal in Vitoria to present another project, she faced a barrage of questions about the reasons for her “dismissal.” Valeria even began to suspect that the show’s silence was a deliberate tactic. “Maybe you’re keeping quiet on purpose so that I’ll leave on my own and you won’t have to pay a penalty?” she joked, describing the strange position she was in. Broncano tried to reassure her, saying that they were colleagues, and if one day she were to be let go, she would be informed personally.
After taking a pause to reflect, Valeria candidly admitted that her first performances on ‘La revuelta’ had not been her best. Speaking directly to the camera, she delivered a brief speech, asking viewers for a second chance. “I believe in second chances. Right now I feel like Pedro Sánchez. I lost the primaries, got into my Peugeot, drove around with my friends and now I’m back to win over those who don’t like me,” Ros stated. She recalled reading biting comments on social media, where people wrote that they went to wash the dishes as soon as she appeared on screen.
To gauge the public’s true attitude, Valeria decided to conduct a social experiment inspired by the well-known prank involving the unrecognizable singer Rosalía. She took to the streets to talk to passersby and observe their reactions. “No one seemed particularly surprised,” Broncano noted while commenting on the video. Still, the experience was significant for the artist herself. “I had a downturn, and I realized I needed to go out among people and get that second chance, to be reborn like a phoenix,” she explained. The host summed up the story: “You were written off by everyone, by the press and by Grison. But you came back from out of nowhere.” His words made it clear that the speculation was over and Valeria Ros would continue her participation in the project.
