Catalonia police have arrested a man in Castelldefels suspected of committing a series of particularly serious crimes. According to investigators, the perpetrator used various disguises, such as hats, wigs, glasses, and fake moustaches, to conceal his identity during the attacks.
Law enforcement links the detainee to two violent incidents that took place in Gavà between October 2024 and January 2025. In both cases, female victims were assaulted using physical force and threats with a weapon. In one instance, the assailant threatened with a knife; in the other, he also used an object resembling a firearm.
The first incident was recorded on October 1, 2024. At that time, an unknown attacker assaulted a woman on a street in Gavà, causing injuries to her hands and forearms. The victim gave a detailed description of the assailant’s appearance, noting his dark moustache and large glasses.
The second attack occurred on January 24, 2025, in the same city. The victim once again faced threats with a knife and, additionally, a handgun. The assailant used improvised means to restrain the woman’s movements before committing the crime. During questioning, the victim also mentioned distinctive features—black moustache and large dark glasses—which she believed were artificial.
From the outset of the investigation, police considered the possibility of a serial pattern behind the crimes. Analysts noted similarities in the suspect’s actions: an unusual disguise, choice of time and place, and a high level of aggression. This enabled them to develop a profile of a particularly dangerous offender capable of repeated attacks.
Investigators carried out a range of measures to collect evidence and conducted surveillance in areas where previous attacks had taken place. During one of these operations, a man matching the descriptions provided by both victims was spotted. Additional evidence gathered at the crime scenes confirmed his involvement in both cases.
The man was detained on September 2 and placed under judicial custody. He faces multiple charges, including violent assault, illegal possession of weapons, and robbery with threats.
