El Último de la Fila gathered 110,000 spectators in Barcelona after 30 years

Full house at El Último de la Fila concert in Barcelona and new weekend festivals

Barcelona hosted the first El Último de la Fila concert in 30 years. All tickets were sold out in advance. The city is also hosting the croissant festival and the largest vinyl fair.

The long-awaited return of El Último de la Fila took place at Estadi Olímpic in Barcelona. The group performed in their hometown for the first time in 30 years, selling out the stadium—all 110,000 tickets were gone long before the event. According to El País, interest in the concert was on par with the largest shows by global stars and leading local acts.

Manolo García and Quimi Portet kicked off the tour in Fuengirola, where their show attracted 18,000 people. However, it was the Barcelona concert that became the main event: fans who grew up with songs like Lápiz y Tinta, Huesos, and Insurrección packed the stadium to the brim. Organizers have already announced a second concert on the 7th, confirming the high demand for tickets.

Music events of the weekend

This weekend, Barcelona became the center of several major music and gastronomic events. The 40th International Vinyl Record Fair opened at Estació del Nord, featuring more than 160 exhibitors from Europe and America offering rare editions, cassettes, posters, and books covering all music genres. The fair runs from Friday to Sunday, and organizers say interest in vinyl now surpasses that of the 1980s.

Yves, a former member of the South Korean group LOONA, performed at Sala Apolo. After leaving the group in 2022, she released two albums and recently presented a new EP, NAIL. The concert included both dance tracks and pop diva-style songs. The show was scheduled to start at 19:45 on Friday.

Gastronomy and family leisure

At the same time, Poble Espanyol is hosting Croiss&Fest—a croissant festival where you can try more than ten kinds of pastries, from classic to experimental. Participants include Bubó Barcelona with its tiramisu croissant, Brunells with a pistachio filling, and La Cantonada with chocolate and torreznos. For visitors with gluten intolerance, there are special options, such as the almond croissant from El Noi del Pa. The best croissant is chosen by the public. The program also features baking master classes, coffee tastings, and activities for children. Advance registration is required to participate in the master classes.

Barcelona has become a hotspot this weekend for music and gastronomy lovers of all ages. The city is simultaneously hosting major concerts, festivals, and fairs, which have notably enlivened the cultural scene and attracted the attention of both residents and visitors to the capital of Catalonia.
