Ballenoil debuts Excellent Plus+, a 95-octane petrol with double additives aimed at cleaning engines and boosting efficiency. The fuel lands at 110 stations in 14 Spanish regions, chasing drivers who want more than just a cheap fill-up.
At a Ballenoil station in Madrid, staff loaded the first batch of Excellent Plus+ into the pumps before sunrise. The company’s new 95-octane petrol, built around a double-additive formula, lands in a market where technical upgrades now matter as much as price tags.
Ballenoil applies a second layer of additives right at the station, not at the refinery. This extra step targets engine valves and injectors, working to clear out and block new deposits in both direct and indirect injection systems. Ballenoil points to independent lab tests that back up these claims, though the company has not published the sample size or operational scenarios. Until now, this approach was only seen in their diesel lineup.
Ballenoil became the first brand in Spain's low-cost segment to offer double-additive technology for both petrol and diesel, shifting competition from price alone to product features.
For drivers, the pitch is simple: better engine protection and performance, with no price hike. CEO Manuel Saez calls it a strategic move. “With this launch we take another step in our commitment to offer higher quality fuels at a competitive price. Double-additive technology allows us to deliver a solution designed to care for and enhance engine performance, while maintaining the price, which is one of the pillars of our model.”
Excellent Plus+ now pours at 110 of Ballenoil’s 400-plus stations, covering 14 autonomous communities. The company plans to widen access as part of its expansion push, aiming to bring the new petrol to more sites and upcoming openings. Europapress reports Ballenoil will gradually roll out Excellent Plus+ to further existing and new stations across Spain.
The launch ties into Ballenoil’s ‘back to routine’ campaign, a move to cement its position as low-cost stations keep multiplying. By adding the second additive at the point of sale, Ballenoil keeps operational costs in check—a key play in a market where price sensitivity and tight margins rule.
Ballenoil's double-additive petrol launch follows the earlier introduction of the same technology in its diesel range, effectively transferring a proven concept to a new fuel type. The company, now part of the Moeve group since late 2023, links this innovation to a broader corporate and network strategy.
Competition among Spanish fuel providers has shifted gears. Ballenoil’s double-additive push answers the rise of new engine tech and drivers who expect both value and quality. The company’s move fits a wider trend toward practical, user-driven upgrades. Dacia’s recent camping accessory, covered by Russpain, shows the same focus on real-world utility.
Ballenoil’s expansion of Excellent Plus+ into petrol marks a calculated play in Spain’s low-cost fuel sector. The company is betting that drivers will trade up for engine care and efficiency, as long as the price stays put. The rollout continues as Ballenoil adds more stations to its network.
