The BYD Dolphin Surf is equipped with a 74 hp electric motor and offers two battery variants: 30.08 kWh with a range of up to 305 km and 38.88 kWh with a range of up to 405 km according to the Chinese cycle. However, the main innovation is the DiPilot 300 safety and driver assistance suite, which integrates LiDAR—a laser scanning system called 'Ojo de Dios' ('Eye of God') in China.
LiDAR enables the car to detect objects and road conditions with high accuracy, making semi-automated driving features possible.
