After more than three decades, Manolo León has closed its renowned restaurant on Calle Juan Pablos in Seville’s El Porvenir. The group is already searching for a new site in the area, while its other central Seville restaurants continue to operate.
Manolo León, one of Seville’s most recognized hospitality groups, has closed the doors of its emblematic restaurant in the El Porvenir neighborhood after 32 years of service. The venue on Calle Juan Pablos, which first welcomed guests in 1994, became a fixture for generations of locals and visitors alike.
The decision marks the end of a significant chapter for the group. In a message to clients, suppliers, and staff, Manolo León expressed gratitude for the many celebrations, gatherings, and memories created within its walls. The closure, however, affects only this location; the group’s other restaurants in central Seville remain open and fully operational.
Plans for El Porvenir
Despite shutting down the Juan Pablos site, Manolo León is not leaving El Porvenir behind. The company has confirmed it is actively seeking a new location in the same neighborhood, aiming to maintain its longstanding connection to this part of the city.
The now-closed restaurant was the group’s first in Seville’s capital, following its beginnings in Matalascañas in 1986. Over the years, Manolo León became synonymous with Andalusian cuisine, quality ingredients, and attentive service. The closure also carries a personal note: the late founder, Manolo León Leal, who passed away in 2015, was the driving force behind the restaurant’s opening and its enduring legacy.
Central Locations Remain Open
While the end of the El Porvenir era is notable, Manolo León continues to serve customers at its two other Seville establishments. Casa Manolo León, located on Calle Guadalquivir in the San Lorenzo district, has been operating since 1999. The group also runs a restaurant in Plaza del Duque, inside El Corte Inglés’ Gourmet Experience, which opened in 2019. Both venues will remain open as the company searches for a new home in El Porvenir.

The Juan Pablos restaurant played a central role in the social and culinary life of El Porvenir for more than three decades.
