More than 80 residents took part in «Una vida de revista» at the Cine-Teatro Municipal in Pedro Muñoz. The show paid tribute to the Revista Musical Española and brought a project years in the making by José Argenta to the stage.
José Argenta had spent years working to bring the project to the stage. At «Una vida de revista» in Pedro Muñoz’s Cine-Teatro Municipal, he finally saw that work performed before an audience.
More than 80 local residents took part in the production, a tribute to the Revista Musical Española. Music and choreography accompanied the story of the central couple. The show put local residents’ talent and commitment on display. The broader Spanish musical-theatre tradition includes zarzuela, whose development in the eighteenth century saw themes move from mythological subjects toward popular ones.
Unlike the television appearance covered in RUSSPAIN’s report on La Revuelta, this production put residents of Pedro Muñoz on a municipal theatre stage.
