Police vans remained for hours outside a home on Calle Recondo in Valladolid during a search linked to the operation. The address is near Campo Grande railway station. The search followed the arrest of Enrique Lemus, founder of Noviembre Nacional. On 6 November 2026, the Policía Nacional operation involved 10 searches across seven provinces: Madrid, Asturias, Guadalajara, Valladolid, Pontevedra, Burgos and Alicante. One search targeted Núcleo Nacional’s central headquarters in Madrid.
Alberto Pugilato, the alias of Alberto González de Juan, was the second person arrested in Valladolid, according to police sources cited by elDiario.es. By the time of that report, the operation coordinated by a Gijón court had resulted in 14 arrests across Spain. The Policía Nacional’s Comisaría General de Información also took part. Those detained face allegations including incitement to hatred and unlawful association. Possession of weapons is also under investigation. The investigation remained open, and the arrests are investigative measures, not convictions.
The case began after disturbances in Gijón in February 2026 near Colegio de la Inmaculada, a Jesuit school. The investigation followed proceedings opened by the juvenile prosecutor’s office after several young people reportedly alleged assaults. Núcleo Nacional had organized a gathering opposing the planned removal of the Héroes de Simancas monument on the school’s façade, using the slogan “Los héroes no se tocan.” The monument is listed in an official catalogue of symbols considered contrary to Spain’s democratic-memory legislation. Members of Núcleo Nacional gathered to oppose its removal and chanted slogans associated with neo-Nazism. After the gathering, the Asturian executive publicly called on the Interior Ministry to take measures to dissolve the far-right group.
Pugilato had previously been convicted in 2021 for spreading hate messages through his musical group. He has also been involved in other incidents, including an assault on a comedian and an attempt to collect money from a farmer described as a debtor. That episode ended with Pugilato ramming and wrecking the farmer’s car with a tractor.
The Valladolid prosecutor’s office also filed a complaint against him over alleged efforts to incite online harassment of media figures associated with the left, including comedian Héctor de Miguel, known as Quequé, and communicator Sarah Santaolalla. The separate Koldo case involved a different investigation and is unrelated to the Gijón probe.
