Indra has formalized a strategic partnership with Bold, a Montmeló-based technology firm, in a move that marks a significant shift in the company’s approach to Catalonia. The agreement, announced by Enric Blasco, Indra’s new regional director for Catalonia, is intended to position Indra Group as a driving force within the local industrial ecosystem. The company aims to quickly identify top technological capabilities in the region and connect them with its major strategic programs, opening new avenues for growth across Catalonia’s industrial landscape.
Bold specializes in advanced energy storage systems, high-performance batteries, battery management systems (BMS), and intelligent energy management solutions powered by artificial intelligence. According to Indra, this collaboration is the first strategic alliance initiated by its newly established territorial delegation. The company emphasizes that the partnership reflects a commitment to strengthening institutional proximity and exploring concrete initiatives to enhance Catalonia’s technological and industrial capacities.
Blasco highlighted that Indra’s new model in Catalonia is built on closer ties with local institutions, businesses, and innovation centers. This approach is designed to accelerate the identification of key technology partners, foster industrial collaboration, and launch projects that build new strategic capabilities. As a result, Indra reports a 57% increase in procurement volume from Catalan suppliers during the first half of the year, already matching the total budgeted for the entire previous year.
The initiative is part of Indra Group’s broader strategy to consolidate Catalonia as a leading industrial and technological hub in southern Europe. During the presentation of the company’s Growth and Investment Plan for Catalonia, Indra’s president Ángel Simón underscored this ambition. The Spanish multinational, recognized as one of Europe’s foremost companies in defense, aerospace, and advanced technologies, closed the 2025 fiscal year with revenues of €5.457 billion, a local presence in 46 countries, and commercial operations spanning more than 140 markets.
