Renault is bringing just 1,500 Rafale hypnotic SUVs to Europe, with only 200 set aside for Spain. This 300-horsepower plug-in hybrid stands out for its bold design and high-end tech.

Renault is raising the bar for exclusivity with the Rafale hypnotic. Only 1,500 of these SUVs will be built for all of Europe. Spain will get just 200. Renault is clearly targeting drivers who want something rare and powerful in a market full of electrified cars.

This isn’t just a new paint job. The Rafale hypnotic is based on the Rafale hyper hybrid E-Tech 4x4 atelier Alpine. It packs 300 horsepower from a plug-in hybrid setup that uses a combustion engine and three electric motors. Drivers can go up to 105 kilometers on electric power alone. The car keeps all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering with 4Control Advanced, and an adaptive suspension that uses a camera to read the road ahead. Renault España and Renault France confirm the Rafale atelier Alpine hyper hybrid E-Tech 4x4 is rated at 221 kW (300 CV). It’s at the top of the Rafale range and available in Spain and across Europe.

The Rafale 300 hp platform is positioned in European sources as a plug-in hybrid AWD with up to 65 miles of electric range (WLTP) in British materials.

The hypnotic edition is easy to spot. Renault chose a deep black satin finish called "negro selva". Gloss black details cover the grille, roof, and rear spoiler. The 21-inch alloy wheels are also satin black, giving the SUV a tough look. Each car gets a black atelier Alpine badge, setting it apart from regular Rafale models.

Inside, the special touches keep coming. The seats and trim use black titanium Alcantara and TEP fabric, with blue, white, and red stitching that nods to Alpine’s roots. There’s a glowing Alpine "A" logo, a numbered plaque, and gloss black door inserts. The dashboard is covered in Alcantara, and even the door pockets are finished in black. Renault France confirms the Rafale hypnotic sits above the more common Rafale esprit Alpine full hybrid E-Tech 200 ch, which is the main seller and costs much less.

Every Rafale hypnotic comes loaded. Standard features include a Solarbay panoramic roof with adjustable tint, a heated windshield, a head-up display, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system. The advanced hybrid system and 4Control Advanced rear-wheel steering—listed in European dealer info—make this SUV stand out in Renault’s lineup and improve how it handles on the road.

Renault France lists the price of the Rafale atelier Alpine hyper hybrid E-Tech 4x4 300 ch at around €62,750, providing a clear benchmark for its premium positioning in Europe. This is a significant step up from the 200 hp full hybrid version, underlining the exclusivity and advanced technology of the 300 hp variant.

Renault is only selling these 1,500 units across 14 European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and Spain. That makes the Rafale hypnotic a real catch for collectors and fans. Orders open on October 1, 2026. Spanish pricing will be announced that day. Turbo.fr reported in September 2026 that the Hypnotic edition isn’t just a facelift. It’s a true limited series focused on exclusivity, with the 1,500-unit cap confirmed for these markets.

This launch fits a bigger trend. Car makers are pushing electrification and exclusivity further. As reported earlier, Renault has already boosted its Scenic E-Tech with better battery range and charging. The Rafale hypnotic, though, is Renault’s move into the premium hybrid space, mixing power, tech, and scarcity in one package.

By giving Spain just 200 cars, Renault is creating urgency and testing how much buyers want high-end, limited-run hybrids. The Rafale hypnotic is a bold bet. It could change what people expect from a mainstream brand when it comes to exclusivity and innovation.
