Zaragoza has marked the Paseo de Isabel la Católica with stars for 65 active centenarian companies. The Chamber of Commerce launched the recognition for its 140th anniversary, citing the firms’ contribution to the city.

On Friday, 6 November 2026, the Cámara de Comercio de Zaragoza inaugurated its Paseo de las Estrellas de las Empresas Centenarias along the Paseo de Isabel la Católica, between Plaza Emperador Carlos V and Plaza San Francisco. Vinyl stars marked the route, giving Zaragoza its own take on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 65 recognised firms are more than 100 years old and remain active in the province.

The Chamber organised the project for the institution’s 140th anniversary, presenting the companies’ longevity as part of Zaragoza’s economic and social history, not as a ranking. Several months before the ceremony, it invited eligible centenarian businesses to participate; 65 opted to receive a star. Each firm received a commemorative trophy during the inauguration. Chamber president Jorge Villarroya and Zaragoza mayor Natalia Chueca presided over the event, with Carmen Herrarte also taking part in the trophy presentation. Company representatives later walked the route to find and photograph their stars. The vinyl markers were scheduled to remain on public view until 30 November 2026.

The initiative is specific to Zaragoza businesses, while an earlier Almería trial focused on crop protection. The star route runs along a stretch of the city’s Paseo de Isabel la Católica, connecting Plaza Emperador Carlos V and Plaza San Francisco.

The recognised companies span sectors including food production, hospitality, retail, banking, insurance, manufacturing, transport, healthcare, construction materials and jewellery.
