On Saturday, 7 November 2026, actors from the Atenea company led visitors through the streets of Casarrubios del Monte and into its castle as part of the Diputación de Toledo’s “12 meses, 12 castillos, 12 experiencias 2026” programme. The Diputación said 300 people took part, with 150 places available in each of the two sessions. The morning session ran from 10:30 to 14:00; the afternoon programme was scheduled for 15:00 to 18:00. Europa Press reported the 300-participant figure after the event.
The visits gave people a chance to explore the fortress and the town in the comarca of La Sagra. In the castle’s parade ground, catering company El Rincón de Juan served two tastings alongside wines from Toledo linked to the Ruta del Vino de la Denominación de Origen Méntrida. The morning tasting was scheduled for 13:00 and the afternoon tasting for 17:00. Organised by the Atenea company, the theatrical visits paired heritage interpretation with food and wine activities.
Visitors without reservations for the main sessions could also join activities open to the public. Asociación Cultural 7 Partidas de Noves staged a historical recreation of life in a medieval camp throughout the day. Acoyani Guzmán and Felicidad Serrano offered palm readings and tarot sessions, with limited capacity and tickets allocated in order of arrival. The two main sessions had 300 reserved places in total. Advance reports said registration opened at 10:00 on 3 November through the provincial tourism website, with a maximum of two places per applicant and reservations allocated in registration order.
Diputación president Concepción Cedillo attended with vice-president Joaquín Romera. Casarrubios del Monte mayor Jesús Mayoral was also there. Cedillo said the programme helps bring historic heritage to the public and links the province’s fortresses to cultural activities rooted in local traditions. She also credited the town council’s cooperation in making the event possible.
The event was part of “12 meses, 12 castillos, 12 experiencias 2026”, the Diputación’s tourism programme to promote Toledo’s heritage sites and the municipalities around them. The itinerary was designed to bring visitors closer to the fortress’s history and the attractions of Casarrubios del Monte. Its focus on historic sites differed from the festival news in this report on Festivern, which covered the cancellation of its 2026 event in Tavernes.
