Zeekr, Geely’s premium EV brand, debuts its Zeekr X compact SUV in Spain. With up to 405 km of range, advanced features, and competitive pricing, the model aims to challenge established players in the segment.
Zeekr has officially entered the Spanish market, introducing its Zeekr X compact SUV as the brand’s first step into the country’s premium electric vehicle segment. The move, facilitated by Portuguese importer Salvador Caetano, marks a significant expansion for the Chinese automaker, which is part of the Geely Group and has set its sights on redefining what premium electric mobility means in Europe.
The Zeekr X stands out with its dimensions—4.43 meters long, 2.02 meters wide, and 1.56 meters high—placing it squarely in the compact SUV category. Its 2.75-meter wheelbase offers a spacious interior, while the exterior design blends minimalist lines with advanced lighting technology. The front features 56 individually controlled LEDs, and the rear is defined by a striking light signature with 229 LEDs embedded in lightweight organic glass, reinforcing the car’s high-tech identity.
The Zeekr X offers a compelling mix of range, performance, and technology, positioning itself as a direct competitor to established European and Asian brands.
Under the hood, the Zeekr X is powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, available in three capacities. The tested Long Range rear-wheel-drive version comes with a 61 kWh battery, delivering up to 405 kilometers of WLTP-certified range. With a maximum output of 250 kW (340 hp) and 373 Nm of torque, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 190 km/h. Fast charging capability is a highlight, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 80% in only 18 minutes at up to 230 kW.
Inside, the Zeekr X departs from traditional layouts, eliminating most physical buttons in favor of a 14.6-inch central touchscreen that controls nearly all vehicle functions. This is complemented by an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 24.3-inch augmented reality head-up display. The cabin features ventilated front seats with electric lumbar adjustment and massage functions, a 13-speaker Yamaha sound system, and a suite of comfort and convenience features such as a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and illuminated rear logo.
Practicality is not overlooked: the main boot offers 362 liters of space, with an additional 15-liter compartment under the hood for charging cables. The Zeekr X’s official combined energy consumption is 17.5 kWh/100 km, but real-world testing over 400 kilometers of mixed driving saw consumption drop to 16.2 kWh/100 km—impressive for a vehicle weighing 1,950 kg.
Pricing is aggressive for the segment. The Long Range version starts at €41,661 with the brand’s promotional campaign, while the entry-level Core model with rear-wheel drive is priced from €37,137. The top-tier Privilege all-wheel-drive variant reaches €46,424. This positions the Zeekr X as a direct competitor to established European and Asian brands, offering a compelling mix of range, performance, and technology.
Zeekr’s arrival comes at a time when the Spanish market is seeing increased competition in the electric SUV space. The brand’s strategy mirrors moves by other manufacturers, such as Cupra, whose Tavascan VZ also targets buyers seeking a blend of performance and premium features—though, as seen in the recent analysis of the Cupra Tavascan VZ, price and real-world range remain key concerns for consumers.
According to elespanol motor, Zeekr’s push into Spain is part of a broader European expansion, as the brand looks to offset slowing demand in its domestic Chinese market. The company is expected to further strengthen its lineup with the upcoming Zeekr 9X flagship, signaling a clear intent to capture a larger share of the premium EV market in Europe.
For Spanish drivers, the Zeekr X offers a new alternative that combines advanced technology, strong performance, and competitive pricing—potentially reshaping expectations in the country’s evolving electric vehicle landscape.
