
On Friday morning in Barcelona, police detained a 67-year-old man suspected of murdering his 92-year-old mother. The incident occurred at one of the social and medical care centers in the Sant Andreu district. According to Mossos d’Esquadra, the emergency number 112 received a report of the incident at around 8:45 am. The caller himself reported that he had killed his mother.
Several police patrols promptly arrived at the scene. Officers confirmed the information, after which the suspect was detained. An investigation began at the facility, and access to the building was temporarily restricted to outsiders.
According to Europa Press, Catalan police have officially confirmed the arrest and the opening of a criminal investigation. The case is being handled by the Divisió d’Investigació Criminal (DIC), which is working to clarify all the circumstances and possible motives of the incident. There is no information on the condition of other patients or staff at the facility.
