
On Friday evening, a serious incident occurred in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona: a man was severely injured after being shot at the exit of a store. According to Mossos d’Esquadra, the attacker waited for his victim on an electric scooter at the door of the shop at the intersection of Sugranyes and Sant Frederic streets.
As noted by El Periódico, the police received the report of the shooting at 21:44. The unknown perpetrator fired several times at the man and then fled the scene on an electric scooter. Emergency services (SEM) were on site, providing first aid to the victim and urgently transporting him to the hospital. The man’s condition is assessed as serious.
Police investigation
The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division of Mossos d’Esquadra. Law enforcement is examining the circumstances of the attack and does not rule out that this could be the result of clashes between criminal groups. At the time of publication, there are no official statements or arrests.
