A knife fight broke out in the Madrid metro on Saturday morning. Two people were injured and eight have been arrested. The injured were taken to city hospitals.

On Saturday morning, a serious incident occurred at the Gregorio Marañón metro station in Madrid: a mass brawl involving a knife ended with two men hospitalized and eight people detained. According to police, the conflict began in a train carriage and continued onto the platform.

Around 6:30 a.m., Samur-Protección Civil and the National Police received a report of a fight at the station. Two ambulance teams and police officers arrived at the scene. Medical staff assisted two injured men: one suffered a cut to his hand, the other received several stab wounds to his back. Both were taken to Madrid hospitals: Ramón y Cajal and Clínico San Carlos, respectively. The second victim’s condition is considered potentially serious and he remains under medical observation.
