In Malaga, police uncovered a daring kidnapping of a gaming salon manager, carried out in broad daylight in the Vialia shopping complex. The incident took place in the middle of the day on the eve of Easter: a security guard from the establishment and his accomplice held the manager, demanding €50,000 for his release. According to law enforcement, the conflict arose due to a payment system error that allowed clients to receive double winnings.
The situation escalated quickly. The security guard, noticing the glitch, invited acquaintances to take advantage of the error. When management blocked the suspicious payouts, a dispute arose between the parties. The guard began threatening the manager, gathering information about his family and following him around the city. Soon, the threats became action: the manager was lured into the shopping center and held, with the perpetrators demonstrating knowledge of his personal details and demanding a large sum.
Police operation
While the perpetrators were negotiating the ransom, a franchise representative from Madrid, who received the demand, immediately contacted the police. Officers from the National Police recommended prolonging the negotiations to buy time. An hour and a half after the incident began, a rapid response team arrived at the scene and arrested both suspects. The manager was freed unharmed.
Motive and consequences
According to the investigation, the organizer of the abduction tried to present himself as an intermediary between the winning clients and the management, but in fact acted in the interests of his acquaintances. After their arrest, both suspects appeared before the court and were released under condition not to approach the victim. The police emphasize that the perpetrators’ actions were accompanied by threats and psychological pressure.
