In Boadilla del Monte, just 25 minutes from the center of Madrid, lies the unique second residence of Alaska and Mario Vaquerizo. The house, which the couple calls their ‘holiday home,’ has become a striking example of how personal connections and tastes can transform a space. Previously, this property belonged to Bibiana Fernández, and it was thanks to her that the artists had the opportunity to acquire a plot of about 2,000 m² with a large garden.
As reported by ¡Hola!, after purchasing the property, Alaska and Mario Vaquerizo undertook an extensive renovation. The result is a home with a bold character: the ground floor now features a gallery dedicated to the artist Fabio McNamara, while the walls of different rooms are painted vibrant shades of blue, pink, and yellow. The interior combines wooden furniture, colorful tiles, and numerous souvenirs from their travels, highlighting the owners’ eclectic style.
Mexican motifs play a special role in the décor—the country where Alaska (Olvido Gara) was born. The home features elements reminiscent of Mexican culture, as well as items purchased both at auctions and flea markets. According to Alaska, it is important for them to blend expensive and simple things: there is a lamp from Durán in the bedroom, and nearby are pieces that cost only a few euros.
The outdoor space also plays an important role: a large garden with a variety of plants personally tended by Alaska, a spacious terrace, and an area for al fresco dining. There is also a swimming pool, which often becomes the center of gatherings with friends and family. This approach to organizing space sets this house apart from other famous residences in the Madrid area.
Interest in unusual celebrity homes in Spain remains consistently high. For example, in Barcelona, attention was drawn to crowds and excitement during the Sant Jordi festival, when city residents flocked en masse to visit new venues and shops—for more details, see the article on record lines and new Sant Jordi festival zones.
