Fire at Campo Real Factory Threatens Thousands of Square Meters

Fire erupts at a plant in Campo Real sparking emergency response

A major fire broke out at an equipment recycling plant in Campo Real. The blaze affected a significant part of the facility. Authorities have taken measures to protect residents and prevent further damage.

A fire at an industrial facility in Campo Real has posed a major challenge for local authorities and residents. The incident drew attention due to its scale and the potential risks to the environment and public health. Authorities had to respond quickly to minimize damage and ensure the safety of people living near the affected area.

According to El Pais, the fire broke out at a household appliance recycling plant located on Bronce Street. The factory covers approximately 5,000 square meters, and the flames spread both inside and outside the building. Initially, 13 fire crews were deployed to contain the blaze, but by morning their number had been reduced to 10 as the situation stabilized.

Firefighting operation

Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. Experts estimate that the fire destroyed about 2,000 square meters of territory, including 1,000 square meters outdoors and the same area inside the production facility. Despite the challenging conditions, no casualties among staff or residents have been reported. Summa 112 medical teams remained on site to provide preventive care and assistance if necessary.

Authorities advised residents of nearby areas to stay indoors and to keep windows and doors tightly closed to prevent smoke from entering their homes. They also emphasized that emergency services should be contacted only in cases of real necessity, so as not to overload communication lines.

Impact on the area

The fire at the factory in Campo Real has raised concerns among local residents due to potential air pollution and health risks. Emergency crews are working to fully extinguish remaining hotspots and prevent the fire from reigniting. Authorities are closely monitoring air quality and are ready to implement additional measures if necessary.

According to El Pais, the main efforts are currently focused on eliminating the consequences of the fire and assessing the damage. In the coming days, an expert evaluation is expected to determine the causes of the blaze and potential environmental risks.

Background and similar incidents

Industrial fires are not uncommon in Spain. In recent years, various regions have reported incidents at warehouses and factories involved in waste processing and equipment storage. For example, in 2024, a major fire broke out at a plastic warehouse near Madrid, also prompting the evacuation of residents and a large emergency response. Such incidents highlight the importance of strict oversight of industrial sites and timely action by services. Authorities continue to improve alert systems and coordination to prevent serious consequences in the future.
