Not So Simple After All The Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL Has a Key Detail That Changes Everything

A motorhome that challenges expectations Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL and its competitive edge

The Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL could be an unexpected favorite: roomy, comfortable, and easy to drive without a heavy vehicle license — but there’s an important detail many overlook

Family travel is being redefined with the arrival of the Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL. This integrated model combines spaciousness, comfort, and functionality while staying within the 3.5-ton weight limit. This design allows you to drive the motorhome with a standard driver’s license, opening new opportunities for those not ready to move up to heavier vehicles.

Unlike many competitors, the Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL does not force you to choose between comfort and price. Even the most expensive version in this range remains under 100,000 euros, making it appealing for families and couples seeking great value for money. The interior is fully equipped for long journeys: four sleeping places, a separate shower, spacious wardrobes, and a thoughtfully designed storage system.

Interior and sleeping areas

At the rear of the motorhome are two longitudinal beds with 15 cm thick EvoPore mattresses and slatted bases. A two-step ladder makes getting in easier. If needed, the beds can be combined into one large sleeping area using an insert and cushion, available for an additional 349 euros. The sleeping zone is separated by a sliding door, and there are spacious overhead cabinets and two wardrobes at the foot of the beds.

The main storage area is located beneath the bedroom—a spacious ‘basement’ with two large hatches, aluminum guide rails, and securing rings. It’s easy to store bulky camping furniture here, fastening it securely to prevent noise while driving. This approach to space organization sets the Trend I 7057 EBL apart from many competitors.

Functional areas

The bathroom is centrally located in the motorhome, featuring a separate shower cabin. The standard configuration includes a toilet, fixed sink, adjustable mirror, open shelves, and a closed cabinet under the sink. Practical details—such as holders for towels, toilet paper, and a cup for brushes—make it user-friendly. The bathroom door can also serve as an additional partition, but the small threshold requires caution.

The kitchen unit is compact: two gas burners, a sink, open shelves, a cabinet, and three drawers under the countertop. The top cabinet is divided into sections for maximum convenience. Opposite is a spacious 137-liter fridge with a 15-liter freezer compartment. At the front of the living area is a cozy lounge with face-to-face seating for six, where the cab seats can be rotated toward the table. The central tabletop splits lengthwise, making it easy to pass through. If needed, the sofas convert into forward-facing seats with three-point seat belts.

Equipment and ambiance

An additional sleeping space is provided by a manually operated fold-down bed (196 x 150 cm) with a spring slat system. It lowers far enough to be accessed via a small ladder or directly from the sofa. The interior is designed in a modern style, predominantly in dark and light grey tones complemented by wooden elements. The test model featured Heron textile leather trim, which is part of the Active package.

The Active package also includes a central lock for the 70 cm wide entrance door with a window, a blackout curtain, and concealed lighting above the cabinets, in the walls, and in the shower area. This lighting creates a cozy evening atmosphere and blends with the interior design. Other options include radio prep with cabin speakers, a DAB+ roof antenna, the possibility to combine beds, a rearview camera, GT exterior design package, navigation system and satellite antenna prep, air conditioning, and solar panels.

Performance and handling

Despite its 7.4-meter length and 2.33-meter width, the Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL is easy to maneuver in city traffic. The noise level is higher than in semi-integrated models due to its construction, but the 2.2-liter diesel engine (180 hp in the test) provides confident performance and a relaxed drive on the highway. The cabin remains nearly silent, although the rigid sun visors are not always convenient to use.

Buyers can opt for a winter package featuring XPS insulation, heated pipes, and a heated water tank, which is essential for those planning trips during colder months. The standard version comes with EPS-insulated walls, and the floor is made using PU beams and an outer GFK panel. This approach makes it possible to adapt the motorhome to various climate conditions.

Demand for integrated family motorhomes is growing, and the Dethleffs Trend I 7057 EBL is emerging as one of the leaders in this segment. According to RUSSPAIN.COM, its combination of price, features, and flexibility makes this model especially appealing to European travelers. However, the range of configurations and packages is so broad that it’s easy to get lost unless priorities are set in advance.

Interestingly, the trend towards versatility and comfort is also evident in other transport segments. For example, the new Lynk & Co 02 electric crossover is also changing perceptions of what modern vehicles can offer, bringing innovative solutions to the European market.

Dethleffs is a German brand with nearly a century of history, specializing in the production of motorhomes and caravans. The company is known for its innovative solutions in space organization and safety. The Trend series emerged in response to the growing demand for affordable yet high-quality integrated motorhomes. The I 7057 EBL model became one of the most popular due to its balance of price, comfort, and options for customization. Dethleffs continues to develop this line by introducing new technologies and improving ergonomics to meet the expectations of modern travelers.
